Orange Couch Therapy
Hey! Come on in! My name is Megan Garcia and I'll be your main host for the duration of this podcast. I am a board-certified licensed therapist in the northwest suburbs of Sweet Home Chicago! So why the Orange Couch? Well, it's more of an ode to my love of a particular t.v. series that followed the lives of six close pals who reside in New York. Can that BE anymore of a hint? I took the couch concept because I'm actually a licensed therapist whose office holds a couch and some chairs so my clients are comfortable spilling their tea. Also, It just so happens that the color orange has many meanings in different cultures and one of my favorite meanings describes orange as a color representing transformation. In therapy, there is lots of transformation. One of my many hopes as you listen to this podcast is that it brings you transformation. Positive transformation. With that being said, let's get started. Get your tea, coffee, lemonade, or whatever it is you like to drink!

This epi talks about putting someone, something, a method of doing things on a pretty pedestal. The one that sits high and you look to it for the answers. As you take a seat on the Orange Couch, maybe the discussion will start to generate ideas on how you can deconstruct those pedestals. NO ONE NO METHOD should be on a pedestal. There's a difference between admiration and putting someone or something on a pedestal. It's fine to admire.... think highly of someone or something but it should never dictate how you feel, act, or think of yourself. Go get your coffee, tea, (maybe even a little bubbly??!) and let's have a seat on the Orange Couch!
